Extension of last date for getting OCI Card re-issued to 30 June 2021
As per existing instructions, the Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI) Cardholder registration is required to be got re-issued each time a new passport is issued up to the age of 20 years and once after completing 50 years of age.
It has been decided to grant extension of time till 30 June 2021 to allow entry in India to all foreigners who need to get their OCI Cards re-issued.
Such OCI Cardholders will be allowed to travel on the strength of their existing OCI Cards bearing old passport, subject to the condition that the OCI Cardholder will have to travel along with the current OCI Card, current passport and the old passport whose details are endorsed on the OCI card.
These OCI cardholders are strongly encouraged to get their OCI cards re- issued before 30 June 2021. Once requisite application form and documents are received, processing of re-issue of OCI card takes only 4 working days.
